Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Comfort Ministry started in May 2019. It is a group representing all ages who gather together to enjoy our love of knitting or crocheting for the purpose of creating prayer shawls/lapghans for those in need of being comforted or nurtured in both difficult and joyous times of their lives. We welcome all skill levels, church members as well as non-members, men and women, young and old to participate in this quiet but powerful ministry at Salem Lutheran Church. We pray together, share our finished products, and simply enjoy each other’s company for an hour of fellowship each month. We meet on the third Monday of every month at 7pm in the church Parlor and our current group involves 7 busy ladies.
We are excited to share that to-date 145 beautiful prayer shawls/lapghans have been handmade with love and prayers. As a sign of God’s loving and healing presence these have been given to folks to remind them they are surrounded by the prayers of others. 
The Prayer Comfort Ministry has received several donations of yarn from members and nonmembers. This is a great opportunity for folks to participate in the ministry as well. We welcome these donations!
We look forward to what the future will bring to the Prayer Comfort Ministry and who might join this special group.
